UV wrapping, Rigging and Textures

Forwards towards uncharted maps~!

As promised a lil more detail of my project for Design for Animation. This furry lil'friend is Cpt Kitty - in the flesh! (not the 2D illustration that's been cradled upon Internets weaved inter-webs)

It's been 5 years in the making, thank you for the patience of those who have been watching or even subtly nudging me along :3

This module objective: "Make a 3D animation".
How this is achieved?
  1. Create a 3D object (thats the character)
  2. Add bones to the character
  3. Wrap the character in pretty textures
  4. Move the bones to frame the animations

This is the simplified way to describe the process.
(For those curious, the bones have weighting, IK handles, then the skin is textures. A seamless animation requires a lot of trial and error to avoid limbs flying about and textures tearing.)

Software used:
Autodesk Maya
Corel Painter 2019

On another topic, got Corel Painter 2019 from the humble bundle as recommended from a lecturer. T Nice UI layout - if you're used to Photoshop then the layers, brushes, font and line tools are easy to find and use. Very painter orientated like Paintoolsai compared to the photo editing side of Photoshop.
Haven't had the chance to really get painting on a fullscale art piece, it's like an upgraded Paintoolsai ♥!

Hope you enjoy the little updates and Thank you ~!
