Well, we were told to design/invent a sweet confectionary of any sort based on a music genre then design a mood board (in this we have to include the product, packaging, logo and name)XD
I chose something japanese related ^^" in this case visual-kei XD (kei meaning fashion/style) which is also a music genre... well it's a category in itself and quite vast...
(Note: the teacher had said it doesn't have to be confinded to modern day technology - somewhat like willy wonka's imaginative confectionary)
Anyway, my idea was a lolipop that lights up and glows/changes colour, called Kei Pop's, which come in 5 flavours of; lemon (kiiro - yellow), blackcurrent (murasaki - purple), strawberry (aka - red), orange (daidaiiro - orange) and lime (midori - green).

They have names because i also designed characters that represented the flavours as well as a sort of trend in visual kei hair and make-up.
The thing that will make my product different or more interesting/appealing is that there will be free stickers with the lolipops but also a collection/competition to win, in which you have to find a lucky stick of that certain flavour and send it off to recieve a prize.
I have decided to make the prizes - posters or bookmarks from the character designs.

The lolipops
What has lolipop's or these have any connection with the genre?
Lolipops and vesual kei are both quite icon and flashy, but not just that lolipops are used alot in music videos, fashion and representation more than any other confectionary, for instance we even stereotype a litlle girl with a big lollipop as being cute or innocent, but then if we change it to a woman in a swimsuit with a lolipop it can be suggestive.
Like visual-kei with it's lolita fashion being more innocent and cute to the more extreme and darker.
I layered these lolipos aswell; first being the flashy topping (more visual), then into the hard candy mid-section(j-rock) to the soft chewy center (j-pop).
